Ajit Ketkar grew up in Mumbai, India in a middle-class household as the youngest of three brothers before settling in Short Hills, New Jersey. Despite money being scarce, it was a happy childhood spent with many friends participating in diverse sports and activities. Both parents were educated, a rarity at the time and they instilled in their children the importance of education at an early age. As a result, Ajit and his brothers excelled in their studies and obtained professional degrees with distinction from elite educational institutions that set them up well for their careers. Ajit always aspired to compete with the best of the best in the world which inspired him to move first to Europe and then to America for further schooling and work at world-class universities and businesses. With all that said, Ajit is proud of his heritage as an Indian American.
